Heinrich Söbke is a Professor for Interactive Digital Systems at Hochschule Weserbergland, Hameln, Germany and a research associate in the field of educational technology at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Germany. Following an interdisciplinary approach, Dr. Söbke's research interests include serious-games, AR and VR in learning contexts, technologies for participatory design and learning, and simulations especially in engineering education. He has participated in various research projects focusing on motivating learning technologies. Currently he serves as a co-head of the working group VR/AR-Learning of the German Society of Informatics (GI). Before he joined academia in 2009, he worked for 15 years in industry projects as a system analyst and computer scientist.

Dr. Ken W. Li is Retired Lecturer, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi), China.  He has also taught Statistics in tertiary institutions in Australia and Canada.  He was General Secretary of the Hong Kong Statistical Society.  He serves on various editorial boards of international academic journals as well as conference proceedings.  His current research interests include computer simulation, big data analytics, and the use of technology in education.  He has developed teaching models and instruments for assessing learning outcomes of students.  He has published research papers in the areas of computer science, statistics as well as education and co-authored an undergraduate Statistics textbook.

Katya Pechenkina is a cultural anthropologist, education researcher, and award-winning lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, where she is responsible for a range of teaching and learning initiatives in  educational innovation, scholarship of teaching and learning, impact and evaluation of teaching, as well as online learning and professional development for academic teaching staff. She has designed and conducted institution-based, national, international and interdisciplinary research projects involving higher education lecturers and students, international and Indigenous learners, as well as with schools and marginalised communities. Her methodological expertise comprises qualitative and quantitative as well as mixed approaches; she is particularly skilled in ethnographic methods of inquiry. She serves as Associate Editor and International Advisory Board member with the Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education.

Paula Charbonneau-Gowdy is a Professor in the Faculty Education and Humanities at the Universidad Andres Bello in Santiago, Chile. Her experience in the field of education has spanned 40 years and at all levels, the last 18 years researching the socio-cultural implications of emerging technologies on teaching, learning and learners. Formerly Senior Advisor in Learning and Technology to the Government of Canada, her research interests lie in promoting effective e-learning practices particularly in Blended Learning and Teacher Education contexts. She was a 2016 and also a 2017 recipient of two Laureate Publication Awards for her writing in the area of technology-based learning.

Ronald Dyer is the Academic Lead - Digital Innovation at University of Sheffield Management School responsible for learning & teaching digital transformation initiatives. He has over 20 years of project management experience across financial services, education, agriculture and energy focused organizational transformation initiatives. He is a graduate of Grenoble Ecole de Management, France, where he obtained a DBA. His research focuses on utilization of game-based-learning, data visualization and artificial intelligence - technology assets (i.e. artefacts) for improved decision-making and problem-solving within organizations.

Andrew Pyper is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader in the School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire. He has been an active practitioner, lecturer, and researcher in the areas of technology and education for over 17 years. His research interests include experimental methodologies to identify and understand the efficacy of educational interventions, learner centred design, online education, and e-assessment. He is a Chartered Educational Assessor and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Recent projects include the development and evaluation of a web application designed to support students in building their skills and competencies in relation to e-learning application development. He is currently working with colleagues on the design of co-curricular activities, micro-credentialling and an experimental framework for investigating the efficacy of multimedia educational environments.

Dr. Pia Spangenberger is a research associate at the University of Potsdam, Germany. After completing her education and holding various positions in Cologne (Germany), New York (USA) and Bonn (Germany), her current research focuses on digital immersive media, such as Virtual Reality (iVR) technology and serious games, addressing learning processes in the field of education for sustainable development. Pia has initiated and led several research projects funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), such as the research project MARLA, which aims at developing and evaluating a VR Game pursuing learning objectives in the field of wind energy technology. Pia’s projects have been awarded and nominated for several awards, such as being nominated for the Nature Research Award for Innovating Science in 2019.

Alessandro Pagano is a Researcher in Computer Science at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy where he graduated in Economics in 2008 and earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2012 with a thesis on econometric and quality models for open-source enterprise application development. His research interests focus on e-learning technology and methodology, learning management systems, digital training, open source software development, end-user development, the Internet of Things, and smart environments. He co-founded Osel Consulting s.r.l., a University of Bari spin-off specialising in e-learning technologies, where he is Chief of Research and Development. He has collaborated with many international research institutions on e-learning and led an Erasmus+ project.
